What do I receive in each book box?

Each book subscription box will include:

  • a selected novel that we have read and loved (choose from recent releases or classics)
  • 4-5 unique and useful items, hand-picked by us from various small businesses and artisans throughout Canada
We will release the "theme" of each box ahead of time, but the book and items will remain a surprise. If you would like to know the book ahead of time, please feel free to contact us.

How does the subscription option work?

We have several options for you! Each month, we alternate between a book box featuring a recently released novel and a classic novel. Your options are:

  • One-time box purchase
  • Three box subscription (recently released novels / classic novels / both)
  • Six box subscription (recently released novels / classic novels / both)
The three and six box subscriptions are discounted as a thank you to our return customers! When you purchase a subscription, you pay for all of the boxes and shipping fees at the time of purchase.

Can I purchase and send one of your boxes as a gift?

Our book boxes make lovely gifts for your book-loving friends and family! If you would like to include a handwritten note with a personalized message, please let us know in the "gift message" section at checkout. We'll write it out on a "gift for you" card and place it in the box. If you are purchasing the box as a gift, please make sure you include the recipient's shipping details under "Shipping Address" and your own address seperately as the "Billing Address." If you are having problems with it, feel free to contact us or leave us a note with your order.

What is your refund/return policy?

Unfortunately, at this time we do not offer refunds or cancellations. Once you have purchased a box or subscription, you have committed to the payment and the product. We take time to carefully curate our boxes to ensure the best experience for you. If you are not happy with your purchase, or if one of your products was damaged in shipping, please use the "Contact Us" section of our webpage to notify us immediately.

When and how do you deliver?

We ship our boxes via Canada Post, usually within the first week of each month. That should ensure that you receive it by mid-month. We alternate assembling boxes at our two locations, so depending on the month you may be able to pick up a box if you live in Clearwater or Burns Lake, BC. Contact us before purchasing if local pickup is an option for you.

What happens if I already have the book?

We strive to include recent books so that hopefully you won’t have already read it, but we know that many of you are avid readers like us, so this could happen. We like to keep the book a surprise each month, but if you would like to know ahead of time to ensure that you don't buy your own copy just send us a message and we can let you know which book will be featured.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship within Canada and to the United States. US customers please note that shipping times may take longer, and you are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. We are not responsible for delays due to customs. We may be able to ship individual boxes, past boxes, or individual items internationally. The shipping costs are usually very expensive, but if you have your heart set on something, please contact us and we may be able to work something out.

Can I pick up my box if I live locally?

Yes! We are a team of two located in Clearwater and Burns Lake, BC. We take turns assembling the boxes, so you may be able to pick up your box if you live in either of these places. Please contact us prior to ordering in order to receive the shipping discount.
